KP run/walk

Special Events

Thursday, September 11, 2014

Team Georgia State has roots as far back as the early 80′s! Somewhere along the way, participation dwindled so in 2005 the fun folks in Recreation decided to rekindle the excitement. Over the past 9 years, students, faculty, staff, alumni, family and friends have chosen to be part of team Georgia State.

The annual Kaiser-Permanente Corporate Run/Walk is Thursday, September 11.  Team warm up is in the lobby at 5:30 p.m.  The event starts at Turner Field at 6:30 p.m.   Join team Georgia State for an evening of camaraderie, fun and food! There will be sandwiches and drinks at the Georgia State tent for those participating in the run/walk! Use the discount code (gsukp14) to ensure you are charged the special GSU rate of $23. This code is for GSU faculty, staff, students, alumni and their family members ONLY. A portion of the entry fee supports the Atlanta Community Food Bank.

Register at www.kpcorporaterunwalk.com.  Sign up as a team and select Georgia State University.

Once you are registered, you will receive information from your captain: Melissa Buchheit (mbuchheit@gsu.edu).

Don’t want to walk or run? Be a volunteer! Please fill out a volunteer form. If you have further questions, please contact Stephanie Belcher at sbelcher@gsu.edu.

Please note that registration is through the KP website, and there are no refunds.

Thanks to everyone to came out!  Weather was great, food was great, and everyone had a good time!

Purpose
Our development projects are aimed at enhancing the overall experience of our university’s students. Each year the Georgia State University Department of Recreational Services encourages and supports young professionals to attend conferences at the local, regional, and national level within the recreational sports profession. Proceeds from the Georgia State University Recreational Services Annual Golf Tournament will be used to support the continual professional development of those student staff members who wish to continue their careers in recreation as they move forward in their professional endeavors.
