WELLNESS WALKS

Juneteenth Wellness Walk

Juneteenth is a federal holiday that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Recreational Services honored Juneteenth by hosting a guided 1-mile wellness walk through campus where we learned about different points of history throughout our campus.

Winter Break Notice

Georgia State University offices will close for the Winter Break starting at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, December 15,  2023, and will re-open on Tuesday, January 2, 2024. Messages received during the Winter Break will be responded to when we re-open on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, but due to the expected volume, responses may take a little longer than normal.

University Housing remains open year-round, and on-call student support resources are always available for all students. Both peer and professional resources remain available throughout the break online at bewell.gsu.edu, and the LiveSafe App is always live. For emergency assistance, call the Georgia State Police at 404-413-3333 and for emergency on-call counseling, call 404-413-1640.

FACILITIES UPDATES:

  • All exterior doors to the Student Recreation Center are operating on PantherCard Swipe Access Hours from 12/5/23 through 12/15/23. You must use your PantherCard for entry to the building. No passes will be sold during this time. Please call the Service Counter at 404-413-1780 if you are having any issues swiping your Panthercard.
  • Cardio Machines & Lower-Level Strength Equipment: The cardio machines in the Exercise Room and the strength equipment on the Lower Level will not be available from 12/11/23 through 12/14/23 due to maintenance.
  • Pools: The leisure pool and lap pool will be closed until further notice. The spa and sauna will remain open and available for use.
  • Women’s Locker Room: The Women’s Locker Room showers will be closed from 12/13/23 through 12/15/23 for renovations. The locker room/changing area will be open and available for use. The Gender-Neutral shower and bathroom located by the Aquatic Center are available for shower use during this time. Due to potential traffic, we ask that you limit showers to 10 minutes.
